Coast Pavement Services is seeking experienced asphalt Rakers with a strong work ethic and who want to be part of the Paving it Forward culture at Coast as part of its paving team. The successful Raker will have experience operating the paving machine in a variety of conditions.

Our operation is a local one with most of the work occurring during the day, Monday-Friday; very few, but some, nights and Saturday work. Days can very in length from short to very long. We focus primarily on parking lots of commercial, office, industrial, and multi-family properties; not roads or highways.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The responsbilities of the Asphalt Raker include, but are not limited to:

– Have an eye for level asphalt mat and fix defects as needed.

– Train and work with new laborers.

– Communicate with foreman and operators.

– Maintain good communication with the roller operator about defects to eliminate issues.

– Clean and maintain equipment as necessary with support of company shop.

– Ensure a safe work environment in compliance with all safety policies and procedures.

QUALIFICATIONS

– Atleast two years related asphalt raking experience is required.

– Ability to work in a variety of weather conditions including heat, cold, wind, rain, and dusty environments.

– Be flexible on schedule with overtime, nights (occasionally) and weekends as necessary

– Must have a strong work ethic.

– Ability to thrive in a team setting.

– Ability to communicate with supervisors, co-workers, contractors, and customers in a courteous, professional manner at all times.

– Those with a valid driver’s license are highly preferred.

– Must be able to pass a pre-employment and random drug testing.

EXPERIENCE

At least 2 years experience working as an asphalt raker.
